Add a VIP to your pitch team
Not all clients want the same thing so you need to draft a proposal and assemble a pitch team that not only meets the brief, but also enables you to stand out from the competition.
For example if the client is asking for social media as part of the package (and who doesn't these days) then you could offer them your standard social support package - as all your competitors are likely to do - but you;re most unlikely to stand out.
Instead why not add an extra dimension to your pitch that will really help you stand out - a social media expert who has been profiled as one of the top global social influencers, who has a monthly reach of about 15 million and who has a track record in achieving spectacular results with social.
As an extended member of your team he'd a resource that you'd only need to fund as and when you need him and he's work under your brand and your direction.
Annie Turner was born with a passion for information and ideas expressed clearly and briefly, backed by evidence. Not surprisingly, she became a tech and business journalist, and quickly discovered that while business people typically love what they do, they are often terrible interviewees, which sells them, their careers and their companies short.
This resulted in a deep enthusiasm for and dedication to coaching executives in:
- the opportunity (an unbelievable number of people agree to interviews without considering WHY they are doing the interview or even WHO the audience is, WHAT they want to say, or HOW to match that to WHAT the interviewer needs);
- the content (HOW to say what they want to say – WHAT words or analogies to choose, WHICH examples they have permission to use, WHAT numbers and other facts they can state publicly to support their argument);
- a methodology that can be replicated to prepare for every presentation or interview – internal or external; and
- performance (HOW to CONTROL the interview without being aggressive or a bore and ENGAGE the interviewer and the audience).
